I like the balancing changes since it makes PVP more interesting, even though it makes my own Time Rainbow deck quite a bit weaker.  On the other hand, beating the Fake Gods is now much, much more difficult.

Any plans to nerf them and their tactics, or was something done to them that I missed?
Good question. I read that the increased costs were as a result of "observed statistics".  Can this be elaborated on? Did you feel the game was too easy at the top level (level 6)?

Hey Jack,

I read somewhere about a mono eather deck for t50 so i tried it. I did change a couple cards around but I  won 3 outta 5 games. so i sold off some of my etrx rares from FG farming. and upgraded all my pillars.  Helped speed this deck up.  Which seems to be the key to T50,  from what i can tell.  This deck did impress me by its effectiveness for $$$.

13 pillars <-- upgraded all them to help speed up deck.
6 Immortals
4 Phase Dragons
6 Dimensional Shields
1 Lobo
Yes, I guess you are right.  It's the towers that make it possible to grind t50.  Most of the decks have towers and if you don't, you are pretty much catching up the whole game.

I tried your deck unupgraded and the mono aether thing didn't work at all.  Upgraded pillars might make all the difference though.

Since I already had a few quantum towers, I have been trying a mostly unupgraded rainbow (based on Scaredgirls "instant win" deck in the rainbow section).  It is the first deck I have tried that I can say has a decent win percentage (over 50%).

Anyhow i usually end up playing late at night as well so late Saturday night/Sunday early morning) i will put up a squid/SoG farm. I'm usually not around at all on Sunday's to play so it should be up all day and i'll make sure to put it back up whenever i'm done playing. I'm almost at perm T50 status so you should see me around a bit in there.  Good luck and play around in the trainer.
Well, I never did see your deck Sunday or today.  Thanks for putting it up though!   :)

[edited] I finally saw your deck today.  Thanks very much.  I won my first green shard!  :P

i was trying to win some weapons/shard  this weekend and kept running into all those green decks repeatedly, i just started hitting the back button and not fighting them.  You lose 15 gold..... but gain all that time.  I dont have a very fast t50 deck.  so i didnt mind so much.  7-8 hours of play over this sat and sun  earned me , 8 pulvi, 3 discord, 3 Eternity,4 Titan, 5 SoG, 2 SoD, 3 Morning Star, 3 Owls Eye.
If only it was that easy.  What deck were you using by the way?

After over 30 hours of play, I have won 3 rares.  I have found rare-farming decks exactly 4 times total.

I have been keeping track of stats this evening.  In 8 hours of matches, I have come across only 17 of the top 50 decks. I have seen 0 rare farm decks.  I have seen one particular deck 23% of the time.

Either it's poor programming or it's rigged.

I've read all your post, and not one of them before the one above this said anything about you losing your progress.
I hadn't meant this to be about me.  All I was trying to say was that you should post a warning if you are going to suggest restarting the client. I wasn't trying to level an accusation at anyone or upset anyone.

If the game saved as it should, you shouldn't have lost any progress just because you reloaded.
That's right.  It shouldn't have.  It did.

I was very pissed off when I lost the one card I had won that day that I was happy about.  Maybe you didn't think people could lose a card from this suggestion.  Fair enough, now we all know.  Ctrl+F5 can make you lose your progress.  Use it as a last resort.

I had to earn my squids the hard way just like you will, T50 and beating Scorpio(won 3 off of him). But if you like, this Sunday, i will put up a Squid + whatever you want farm (as long as i have it obviously).
Thanks, if you could put up a squid and green shard deck when you are done playing for the day, I (and others I'm sure) would be very grateful.

I haven't seen an aether deck listed in the top50 threads I looked at. Do you have a link or some suggestions?
Don't quote me on this but a 6 dim shield, 4/6 PU,6 immortal or dragon build should be able to take down most life and earth decks although i certainly could be wrong. Also adding a Lobotomizer or 2 probably wouldn't hurt either since even if they get stolen they don't hurt you.  Life has no control and i'm thinking it should do okay vs Rainbow as well since there is nothing to steal or eat. I would try it out in the trainer first before purchasing cards though ( www.elementsthegame.com/trainer ).
Well, this is news to me. I didn't know there was a trainer.  I'll check it out.  If it means you can try decks out before playing, I wish I had heard of it before.

Thanks again MrBlonde, you have been most helpful.

I am honestly more frustrated by all the suggestions for unupgraded decks to try that don't really work.  After a string of more than 20 losses in a row followed by a single victory and a bunch more losses, it gets really old really fast.
When you say you've lost 20 in a row do you mean vs T50's or FG's? Was playing around with the unupped earth deck and it doesn't seem to work too badly. I did try an aether/poison deck but i think the earth is more effective so perhaps it isn't a good idea.
T50 - and I counted.  It was 22 losses in a row versus top 50 before I finally won a game.  (Let's see that cost 330 coins, one fifth of an upgraded card ... nice.) I expect strings of losses againts FG's, but when you buy an unupped deck someone claims works well against top50 and promptly lose 22 games, you start to reconsider your strategy.

the losses were mostly the rainbow decks with the bonewall(s)+6 sundial+phase shield(s)+fire shield(s)+fireball(s)+elite otyughs that held me off long enough for them to get out the unbeatable creature combos. Then there were all the speed decks I faced. If they have towers and you don't, their speed decks will beat you almost every time.

And no, I'm not an idiot with regards to choices of card play. (I say this before somebody jumps in here like in the other threads and says it must be something you are doing wrong.) To be honest with the speed decks I tried, there's not much card choice in the matter for that to be an issue. I rarely lose against level 5 with my rainbow deck and I get enough FG wins to almost break even so I'd say I know when to play what cards and how to use them. If it weren't for wanting some green shards, I'd just stay in the FG's level 5 areas and take my chances there.

Thanks for this deck by the way.  It's a decent way to get started with FG and level5 grinding.

I suppose I assumed people would be more worried about a flashing red sign saying "Disconnected, NOT saved, Progress lost!" than about not being able to find a top50 opponent.
I did not have such a sign on my screen. If you READ my post you would see I was getting a green "confirmed" message.

If I hadn't hit Ctrl-F5, I wouldn't have lost my progress!  But I came here to look for help with the situation and followed the advice given. Upon the following login, I was missing coins and cards.

Get it?

If you follow ScaredGirls unupgraded FG farmer you really only need 7 upgraded cards which is manageable. Then you have the enviable task of farming FG's which can be a pain in itself but that's the way to make real money.
This is true and actually what I have done.  However, in looking to improve my deck, I started looking at other rainbow decks, some of which require 6 or more rare cards (shards in particular is the problem).  So I wanted to find a way to try to get some shards, which can only be gotten by grinding top 50 (or by donating 5$ for a card, but apparently according to the thread I looked at about this the person processing the cards is missing in action so this isn't an option either).  Let's not even talk about the squids that once everyone could buy but now are only available in some people's top50 decks.

Although i'm sure an aether deck should be able to handle those life decks if you are so inclined.

Anyhow try not to get too discouraged.
Thanks for the kind words, I do appreciate it. I am honestly more frustrated by all the suggestions for unupgraded decks to try that don't really work.  After a string of more than 20 losses in a row followed by a single victory and a bunch more losses, it gets really old really fast.

More to the original question of this topic though, if someone could just post a reasonable transition from AI3 to top 50, (preferably by someone who has done it under the current top50 and rules set) it would be very helpful.  Advice such as "don't bother unless you get about 10 unupgraded cards and the best way to do that is to grind AI3 until you have the coin" is fine if that's really the accurate picture of the situation. If it is, then what deck and what upgraded cards would be the best place to start?

This happens to me off and on all the time.  I use Internet Explorer.  To be honest, telling people to ctrl+F5 and potentially lose their session (and possibly saved cards) is irresponsible.
Irresponsible? That's a very harsh word to throw around, especially towards a forum staff member (and it is against the forum rules - read them). Offering a solution to reconnect to the game is hardly irresponsible. Rather, it's quite responsible for a member of our forum staff to try to help a player reconnect to the game. Irresponsibility would describe the person who continues to play the game while disconnected. It's not too much to ask someone to lose one game's worth of work to try to reconnect to the server.

You can also try to force a connection to the server by loading up the game or trainer in another window. As the game is loading, you will see a connection attempt in your live game window. It works nearly 100% of the time, so if a connection isn't made, it's probably not you, but the server.
I'm sorry if you don't like the word, but if I lose a nice card because I followed the directions in this forum to solve this connectivity problem, I call that irresponsible. It's not a personal attack. I'm calling it what it is.  I'm not saying they did it on purpose, but I could also tell people to reformat their hard drive to solve their virus problems.  Not going over the potential consequences of that action would also be irresponsible.
